Minimalist Magic at Chateau Sentout, Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Sophie and Milos chose Château Sentout near Bordeaux for a late-spring celebration with linen tablescapes, vineyard views, and candlelit evenings.
Featured FWS Members
Sophie and Milos gathered their closest friends from across Europe at Chateau Sentout, a historic wine estate wedding venue near Bordeaux for a three-day spring celebration defined by minimalism and emotion. Mist lifted each morning to reveal the Gironde valley, and every design choice from white linen to restrained florals let the 1650s architecture speak, making it one of the most distinctive chateau wedding venues near Bordeaux.
Getting Ready

Sophie pulled on ivory satin opera-length gloves in the upper rooms of the chateau, her fitted halter-neck gown and cathedral-length veil already in place. Nancy McNamara kept the makeup understated, matching Sophie the film producer's approach to every visual choice. On the gravel path outside, Milos adjusted his sand-beige suit and white boutonniere, the pointed turrets of the chateau rising behind him.
Ceremony

Guests gathered on the lawn in front of the ivy-covered chateau with its stone balustrades and red shutters. White matte pedestals of varying heights held minimal floral arrangements along the aisle, Mauricette keeping the design deliberately restrained. Sophie walked the gravel path to meet Milos beneath open sky, the Gironde valley stretching out behind them. Vows were exchanged with the round tower and conical slate roof framing every angle.
Couple Portraits

A first look in the formal rose garden opened the session, Sophie and Milos holding hands on the gravel path between clipped hedges. Bojan Redzepovic worked between colour and black and white as the couple moved through the grounds, walking toward the chateau across the lawn, standing between the long reception tables, and sharing a quiet forehead-to-forehead moment in the courtyard. A solo bridal portrait against the weathered stone facade with dark shuttered windows completed the set.
Reception

Cocktails were served in the gravel courtyard beneath the ivy-covered facade, the red shutters and slate turrets providing a backdrop. Dinner moved to two long banquet tables on the lawn within a walled stone courtyard beneath ancient arches. Philys Traiteur served a refined menu with oyster stations and local delicacies. Popshaker and Disco Danny carried the celebration late, while the cake cutting took place under a stone archway draped in climbing vines with small purple-lilac flowers.
Design and Details

Mauricette kept the floral design minimal, white ceramic vases and urns of varying heights holding white lisianthus and greenery along the ceremony aisle. Linen, white candles, and delicate white blooms dressed the reception tables, allowing the chateau stonework to lead. Among the details, a groom boutonniere of white lisianthus rested on a vintage hardcover book, while satin opera gloves and pointed shoes were styled on a floral-patterned surface.
Venue

Chateau Sentout is a wine estate dating to the 1650s, its honey-coloured stone, pointed slate turrets, and red wooden shutters giving it an unmistakable silhouette above the Gironde valley. Each morning, mist draped the valley floor before lifting to reveal the vineyards and rolling hills. The ivy-covered facade, formal gardens, and walled stone courtyard gave the three-day celebration distinct spaces without ever feeling staged.
