The Venue History

15th century · Provencal mas (farmhouse) with chateau-like interiors

The foundations of the main house date back to the end of the 15th century. Typically Provencal in exterior and facade, the 600m2 mas takes on the appearance of a small chateau thanks to its sumptuous interiors. Through the middle of the Domaine runs a canal system conceived and created in the 16th century by Adam de Craponne, funded by Nostradamus, which brought water from the Alps via the Durance. This centuries-old irrigation system is still used today to irrigate the fields of Crau hay, an organically grown hay of exceptional quality prized from the Emirates to the English court for feeding racehorses. The current owners, Eve and Sebastien, returned from 8 years as expatriates in New York and renovated the building using French heritage craftsmen to preserve the soul of the place. The furniture is the fruit of more than 50 years of passionate research, a multi-generational quest that makes this a unique collection.
