Chateau de la Gruerie
About This Venue
A secluded Burgundy world crafted for weekend love stories
An 18-hectare estate in Burgundy offering intimate self-catering accommodation with 7 bedrooms, heated pool, and parkland with gardens and wildlife spotting.
The Venue History
Traditional Burgundian chateau
The estate takes its name from its origins as a gruerie, a French institution dedicated to forest management, with the chateau serving as the residence for forest keepers. After many years as a private property, the current owner Jean-Philippe undertook bold planting projects two decades ago, transforming the park into a haven for deer, rabbits, and birdlife between forests and fields. The chateau's former outbuilding, a traditional longhouse, has been converted into two cottages that double as small museums blending modern and antique art, with a collection of paintings and furniture from varied origins curated by Jean-Philippe over the years. The estate now opens its doors for private events and cottage rentals.
