Two brides in voluminous tulle, one blush and one powder blue, standing before gilded panelling: this editorial at Château de Champlâtreux, an 18th-century estate with grand salons near Paris staged a conversation between pastel romance and haute couture boldness. Shot by Ioana Porav, an editorial wedding photographer based in Ile-de-France, the series let the chateau’s ornate blue salon do exactly what it was built to do. Explore more elegant wedding venues and celebrations across Ile-de-France for settings that hold this kind of architectural confidence.
Getting Ready

The getting-ready sequence captured the quieter rhythm beneath the spectacle: a bride holding still while a veil is pinned, eyes closed, breath slow. The Milla Nova gown, a full-skirted construction in blush silk tulle with a structured corseted bodice, was laid across a chaise before being stepped into. Muse the Beauty Room styled both hair and makeup with precision, shaping clean lines that held under the afternoon heat.

Inside the blue salon, each gown inhabited its own atmosphere. The blush Milla Nova look was all softness, skirts pooled on parquet, loose curls framing the face, afternoon light catching the tulle. The powder blue Be My White gown demanded a sharper frame: straight-on against the panelling, its architectural pleating casting defined shadows. Ioana Porav’s eye for the interplay between line and fabric makes these portraits feel less like fashion photography and more like portraiture of two aesthetics finding common ground.

The couple portraits moved outside to the formal gardens, where clipped hornbeam hedges and gravel allees provided structure against the floating tulle. Ioana Porav placed both brides against the long perspective of the main allee, the chateau anchoring the far end of the frame. Closeness, eye contact, and one bride adjusting the other’s veil just before the shutter clicked gave the fashion compositions a genuine warmth.

Styled to complement rather than compete, the bridal party wore separates in soft terracotta and warm ivory, a choice that grounded the pastel palette. The group moved through the garden parterre during golden hour, the sound of gravel underfoot. One candid frame shows two bridesmaids mid-laugh, the chateau rising behind them, skirts catching a light afternoon breeze.

Garden roses in petal pink and warm cream were layered with spires of lilac delphinium, airy sweet peas in blush and soft violet, and trailing jasmine vine by Exquise Design and Maria Bunea Event. The outdoor table setting featured low floral runners mirroring the chateau’s parterre geometry, crystal chandeliers hung above classic Louis XVI chairs, and napkins folded with a single stem of muscari. Rentalux Paris supplied fine tableware and champagne coupes, while Blanc-Tailleur Bastien and Collection-Paris provided the patisserie.

Fine tableware sourced through Rentalux Paris was paired with hand-torn stationery in ivory and sage from Love and Paper, champagne coupes catching the salon light. Ribbon-tied posies and letterpress invitations pressed deep into cotton-rag paper gave each composition a tactile quality that guests notice even if they cannot name why.

Chateau de Champlatreux lands squarely in your chest the moment you step inside. Grand facades in pale stone face sweeping formal gardens, and painted ceilings with carved boiserie line every room. The blue salon, with its cerulean walls and gold detailing, became the centrepiece of this editorial, afternoon sun slanting through tall windows to cast long warm rectangles across the parquet floor.
