Saffron Silk and Gold Calla Lilies at Chateau de Prunay, Ile-de-France
A saffron-yellow gown and gold calla lilies at Chateau de Prunay near Paris. A bold editorial by Theatre of Real Life in Louveciennes.

Katerina and Stefan's editorial at Chateau de Prunay, a pale stone estate in Louveciennes fifteen minutes from Paris was built around one radical idea: a saffron-yellow bridal gown against centuries of cool French architecture. Theatre of Real Life captured bold colour and quiet intimacy as both planner and photographer, using the chateau's antique boiserie panelling and parquet floors as a neutral canvas for every golden detail. Chateau de Prunay's interior ceremony space absorbed the saffron accents like a canvas takes paint, pale walls and tall windows meeting herringbone parquet. Fleurs d'Amour flanked the aisle with arrangements of yellow calla lilies and white amaryllis in low mercury-glass vessels. Paris Officiant A. Herberholz led the ceremony as the soft whirr of Bisou Wedding Films' camera was the only sound before the music began.

Against Chateau de Prunay's weathered limestone walls and iron-grey garden, the saffron gown read almost incandescent. Fleurs d'Amour's bouquet of yellow calla lilies, butter-cream ranunculus, and trailing jasmine vine echoed the palette while adding softness and movement. The silhouette was architectural: a deep V neckline, bias-cut bodice, and a train long enough to fill the chateau's grand corridor.

She appeared at the top of the chateau's stone staircase, the saffron-yellow silk catching every note of daylight filtering through the arched window above. Outside, bare pleached limes lined the gravel path of Chateau de Prunay's formal garden, their skeletal branches framing each shot in graphite grey. Bisou Wedding Films caught the last frames as the sky went lilac behind the chateau roof.

Guests moved through the ground-floor salons past clusters of calla lilies and lemon branches in tall bronzed urns, Gala Event's gold-rimmed coupes loaded with a pale yellow citrus cocktail. The reception table glowed under beeswax tapers in varying heights, their flames reflected in gold-rimmed plates. Fleurs d'Amour's lemon-and-calla-lily arrangement ran the full length of the linen, and Synie's Paris created a cake that carried the golden theme to the final course.

Gala Event's wide-rimmed gold-edged plates sat on heavily textured ivory linen, the cloth's slubbed weave catching shadow like raw silk. Souvenirsdesoie introduced silk ribbon in pale butter and deep turmeric knotted loosely around napkins. Whole lemons and halved citrus were scattered down the table, their pith-white faces and chrome-yellow rind doing the work of a centrepiece. A sun-inspired gold ring sat beside saffron-yellow calla lilies in the pale soft light.
