Ivory Florals and Amber Light at Chateau de Fonscolombe, Provence
Dominic and Georgie’s wedding at Chateau de Fonscolombe near Aix-en-Provence with ivory florals and a Halfpenny London gown. 69 photos by Maya Marechal.
Dominic and Georgie’s story opened with a private rooftop proposal in Paris, a violinist, candlelight, and the Eiffel Tower mid-sparkle, then carried south to Chateau de Fonscolombe, an 18th-century Relais and Chateaux wedding estate near Aix-en-Provence. CC Weddings and Events, one of the leading wedding planners in Provence shaped a weekend across 12 hectares of listed parkland, captured by photographer Maya Marechal. Getting Ready

Georgie prepared in one of the chateau’s fifty rooms as Joana Ronquillo shaped a polished, natural finish: luminous skin, defined brows, and the softest rose-petal nude lip. Her Halfpenny London gown in ivory silk crepe with broderie detailing rustled softly as the last buttons were fastened. Warm sun cut across the gardens at a low golden angle, flooding the windows with pale champagne light.
Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the chateau’s gardens among borders where the last rosehips glowed rust-red against bare stems. VOGUE Live Band’s string prelude settled the assembled guests as pale afternoon sun moved through the plane trees, throwing long shadows across the lawn. Petals lifted on a cold breeze as Georgie walked to meet Dominic, and vows were exchanged in natural light with the kind of quiet that only comes when an entire garden holds its breath.
Bridal Portraits

Maya Marechal worked the geometry of the formal gardens against the fluid softness of the Halfpenny London gown. Clipped box hedging and bone-white gravel paths framed each shot while the ivory silk caught the flat soft morning light. No harsh shadows, just a luminous glow that made every detail readable: the broderie, the neckline, the trailing skirt hem skimming pale stone.
Couple Portraits

After dinner, Maya Marechal took Dominic and Georgie into the parkland where the chateau glowed from within and the night air carried the mineral scent of cold stone and damp grass. The plane trees formed a cathedral of branches overhead, the long allee lit by Phos Events’ exterior lighting. They faced each other laughing at something private, the 18th-century facade golden behind them in the dark.
Bridal Party

The bridesmaids wore a shade between warm champagne and pale gold in lightweight satin with a bias-cut drape that moved in the garden breeze. Against the stone facade, the group made an arresting image: different heights, different hair, the same easy confidence. Laughter broke out between frames as Maya Marechal captured the moment they stopped posing.
Reception

On the terrace, DNA Bartending poured coupes as the low sun backlit the cypress trees along the estate boundary. VOGUE Live Band opened the reception in full, and the dance floor filled before the first course was cleared. CC Weddings and Events choreographed the evening seamlessly, courses, speeches, and first dance all timed to the rhythm of a party that refused to stop. The Halfpenny London gown became something else entirely when Georgie danced, the silk crepe swinging and the broderie catching warm amber light.
Design and Details

Pearly White Concept anchored the reception in an all-white and warm ivory palette with organic texture doing the heavy lifting: pampas grass in bleached cream, white amaryllis with waxy trumpet heads, and ranunculus packed tight. Trails of smilax vine threaded between pillar candles in ivory and warm beeswax. Phos Events lit the rooms in a deep amber wash that made the white florals glow like something from a Dutch still life.
Flat Lays

Pearly White Concept set the tone with blooms in ivory, warm white, and the faintest blush of antique rose: garden roses with loosely quartered heads, ranunculus in cream, and sprigs of olive and eucalyptus in silver-green. The stationery carried an engraved crest in ecru on cotton-white stock. Georgie’s perfume, a tall amber-glass flacon with iris and sandalwood, sat beside the bouquet.
Venue

Chateau de Fonscolombe takes on a particular stillness. The 12 hectares of listed parkland show their bones: the geometric parterre, the long allee of plane trees with patterned bark in grey and ochre, and stone balustrades draped with climbing roses. The chateau itself is a study in Provencal classicism, pale ochre render, tall shuttered windows, and a roofline that sits against a soft sky.
