Orient Express Romance at Chateau de Robernier, Provence
Segah and Josh's British-Turkish autumn wedding at Chateau de Robernier, Provence, with fewer than 40 guests and a live band. 60 photos by Nadine Pramhas.
An Orient Express proposal set the tone for everything that followed. Segah and Josh gathered fewer than forty guests at Chateau de Robernier, a 16th-century vineyard estate in the Var, for a five-day October celebration that wove British and Turkish traditions into long Provencal evenings. From an opening dinner among the vines to a farewell brunch in Nice, the week moved at its own pace across Provence's most celebrated wedding landscape.
Getting Ready

Jimmy Choo pearl-embellished heels sat propped against a white armoire while the Mila Nova Olimpia gown hung from tall double doors in one of Robernier's formal rooms. The off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline and fitted waist caught the morning light, and a personalized Moet and Chandon gift box waited on a side table, already inscribed with the couple's names.
Ceremony

Fewer than forty guests gathered in the chateau courtyard as late afternoon light warmed the limestone walls and clipped gardens. A string duo played softly while clusters of white garden roses, ranunculus, and trailing greenery marked the gravel aisle. After vows, white petals filled the air as the couple walked back through their guests, the surrounding hills glowing with warm October colour.
Bridal Portraits

Against a classical stone statue in the formal garden, the bride leaned easily into the frame, the Mila Nova gown's fitted off-the-shoulder silhouette reading clean against the greenery. A black-and-white portrait of Josh, leaning against an ornate fireplace mantel with a glass in hand, added a different register to Nadine Pramhas's documentary-style photography.
Couple Portraits

Nadine Pramhas led the couple through the formal gardens and along the gravel drive at golden hour, the chateau's turret and honey-toned facade soft in the background. One frame caught them mid-kiss with the full estate in sharp focus behind, the kind of image that works because the composition inverts expectation. The vineyard light did all the work.
Cocktail Hour

Oysters on ice and a champagne coupe tower marked the transition from ceremony to evening. A saxophonist in a rust-brown blazer played from the terrace as guests gathered around silver trays of canapes and bottles of Cremant d'Alsace. The champagne pour, Segah and Josh tipping the first coupe together, drew cheers before the sun dropped behind the vineyard ridge.
Reception

Candlelight filled the ballroom as guests moved from the gravel terrace into the chateau's grand interior, where high windows and polished parquet floors reflected the warm glow. A live band opened the dancing, later giving way to a DJ who kept the floor full until late. David Millet's catering kept the menu rooted in regional Provencal flavours throughout the evening.
Design and Details

A personalized Moet and Chandon Brut box carried the couple's names in bold lettering, and a bottle of Monkey Shoulder whisky hinted at the groom's preferences. Inside the chateau, the double-height entrance hall showed white panelled walls with gold gilt detailing and a crystal chandelier, a reminder that the venue's own architecture supplied much of the decoration.
Flat Lays

The invitation suite, styled on dark veined marble, paired ivory card with black script calligraphy and a monogrammed wax seal in warm gold. Loose pearls, ivory silk ribbon, and a brass stamp surrounded the stationery, the palette echoing the pearl-embellished Jimmy Choo heels featured elsewhere in the morning details.
Venue

The 16th-century chateau sits among vineyards and olive groves in Montfort-sur-Argens, 45 minutes from Saint-Tropez. Two distinctive round towers anchor the warm stone facade with its pale blue-grey shutters, and inside, crystal chandeliers and gold-trimmed panelling set a formal counterpoint to the relaxed Provencal grounds.
