Modern Madonna: Lace and Stone Light at Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, Loire
Rita and Aime's modern Madonna editorial at Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, Loire Valley. Caudry lace, bold florals, stone light. 45 photos by The Soulmate Duo.
Stone corridors, vaulted ceilings, and a thousand years of history framed this editorial at Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, a landmark Loire Valley abbey for distinctive weddings. The creative vision paired a modern Madonna theme with Romanesque architecture, orchestrated by Mc2 Mon Amour, an experienced Loire Valley wedding planner. Bridal Portraits

Rita wore a full-length Calais Caudry lace gown with long sleeves that caught filtered light as she moved through the abbey's stone corridors. The Soulmate Duo framed her against carved pilasters and glowing chandeliers, each portrait balancing the weight of Romanesque architecture with the delicacy of the lace. One close-up in warm ambient light reduced the scene to texture alone: stone, lace, and a quiet confidence.
Couple Portraits

In the vaulted cloister corridor, The Soulmate Duo captured Rita and Aime in black and white, arched stone ceilings drawing the eye toward them. Aime's slim-fit black suit and simple band offset Rita's intricate lace, creating a study in contrast. Outdoors on gravel courtyards, the pair moved through filtered light with a serene rhythm, every gesture framed by the abbey's thousand-year-old symmetry.
Design and Details

Univers Celestine styled the interiors with geometric furniture and natural-fibre linens that refreshed the limestone palette without competing. Folie Douce Flower arranged bold white blooms and vivid green accents in measured compositions that animated the neutral stone. Matte white place settings and soft candlelight drew warmth into the grand space, while natural wood and raw linen anchored the contemporary feel against the abbey's ancient walls.
Flat Lays

Koklyqo's stationery suite paired deckled-edge invitation cards in blush and cream with puzzle-piece-shaped place cards, all resting on cool stone tiles. Rings by Helene Turbe sat alongside the paper goods in simple, unadorned compositions. Bella Belle shoes and accessories by Paviot Createur completed the arrangement, each piece chosen for its quiet texture against the abbey's raw surfaces.
