Thyme and Candlelight: An Intimate Vow Renewal at Chateau St Victor la Coste
An intimate vow renewal at Chateau St Victor la Coste in Occitanie with a Chana Marelus gown, handmade ceramics, and portraits by La Dichosa. 51…
Wild thyme and candlelight set the tone for this intimate vow renewal at Chateau St Victor la Coste, a 16th-century fortified estate on the Provence-Languedoc border. Empreinte Ephemere, a design-led wedding planner working across the south of France mapped every zone while La Dichosa documented the day in the golden light of Occitanie historic wedding landscapes.
Getting Ready

Triplow worked in one of the chateau vaulted interior rooms, thick stone walls keeping the air cool while warmth pressed outside. The bride hair fell in a loose, low form, undone enough to feel human, polished enough to feel intentional. The Chana Marelus gown from A Louise Bridal hung on its hanger: clean crepe lines, a structural bodice, no embellishment needed.
Ceremony

Guitarist Guillaume Duhamel played as guests gathered on the terrace, his sound drifting across the valley in the warm early-evening air. Stone walls on three sides held the sound close. When the vows were exchanged, the light was that particular deep gold, landing across both faces at once. Cinematographer Anna Lord moved quietly at the edges, catching the stillness between moments.
Bridal Portraits

Against raw stone and iron gates, the Chana Marelus gown photographed as intended: modern, spare, and completely at home in a historic setting. La Dichosa captured the bride in golden-hour corridors where shadow and light divided the frame at sharp angles. Her accessories were minimal. The architecture was the jewellery.
Couple Portraits

La Dichosa shot the couple portraits in the last of the day light, moving through terraced gardens and iron-gated archways. The palette was entirely natural: sand, shadow, dark green cypress, and the warm ivory of old Languedoc stone. These were not directed poses but navigated moments, two people who know each other well, in a place that gave them room to simply be.
Reception

Private chef Severine Sagnet built a menu around the season: market tomatoes, slow-cooked lamb from the garrigue hills, stone fruit for dessert. Guests sat at long courtyard tables as night settled and candles took over from daylight. Singer Guillaume Duhamel returned for the evening, his voice carrying across the cobblestones as the last warm air held.
Design and Details

Empreinte Ephemere built a table that felt like a Provencal still life. Bespoke plates from Caroline Augier Ceramique sat on undyed oatmeal linen. Custom brushed brass candle holders added weight without gloss. Joli Bazaar glassware caught candlelight in amber flickers. A bouquet of chamomile, dried grasses, and rosemary completed the herbal arrangement on the courtyard table.
Venue

Standing at the crest of the valley, Chateau St Victor la Coste offers stone terraces dropping in graceful levels, vaulted rooms opening onto cobbled courtyards, and hillside views stretching toward blue-haze ridgelines. The light turns amber by late afternoon, warming every surface from fortified wall to hand-thrown ceramic bowl.
