Sage Green Toile and Garden Dining at Le Mas des Poiriers, Provence

S and R's summer garden dinner at Le Mas des Poiriers near Avignon, with sage green toile and botanical design. Photos by Joeffrey Wingrove.

Sage green toile, white dahlias, and live music beneath plane trees defined this summer celebration at Le Mas des Poiriers, a private 65-acre wedding estate near Avignon. Charlotte Bruas of Love is More Weddings, a destination wedding planner in Provence designed the evening around botanical porcelain and candlelit garden tables. Guests arrived to find the terrace transformed into a drinks station framed by climbing greenery and the estate's powder-blue shutters. Behind a curved sage-green bar topped with white marble, the mixologist from CATHERINE and Co stirred flower spritzes and lavender martinis in crystal coupes. Beside the bar, L'Arrosoir de Margaux placed an arrangement of white agapanthus, ivory garden roses, and cornflower-blue delphiniums that set the evening's colour palette before dinner had begun.

Round tables dressed in sage green toile de Jouy linen lined the cypress allee, each centred with low ceramic urns of white dahlias, blush ranunculus, and powder-blue delphiniums. Charlotte Bruas of Love is More Weddings designed every place setting with hand-painted botanical porcelain, scalloped blue-rimmed crystal tumblers, and Precieux Papiers menu cards listing wild sea bass ceviche and magret de duck. As the sun dropped behind the plane trees, The Gypsy Queens began their set from somewhere among the hedgerows.

Charlotte Bruas built the visual language around three anchors: sage green, slate blue, and warm white. The toile de Jouy tablecloths set the ground note, while floral-rimmed porcelain and crystal glassware layered texture on top. L'Arrosoir de Margaux carried the palette from cocktail bar to dinner table, repeating white dahlias, blue hydrangeas, ivory roses, and delphiniums across every arrangement. Precieux Papiers tied the programme together with botanical corner illustrations and a multi-day welcome itinerary headed Bienvenue.

Le Mas des Poiriers sits on 65 acres of private land on an island in the Rhone, 15 minutes from Avignon's TGV station. The ochre-rendered facade, powder-blue shutters, and gardens redesigned by Dominique Lafourcade create a property that reads as both grand and personal. Between the cypress allee, the wisteria-covered pergola, and the parterre garden with its stone statuary, couples have several distinct ceremony and reception spaces without ever leaving the grounds.
