Cherry Red Dahlias and Wood-Fired Pizza at Chateau de Glairans, Burgundy
Victoria and Louis’s Italian-inspired summer wedding at Chateau de Glairans in Burgundy with cherry red dahlias and a vinyl bar. Photos by Ilkeys.
Victoria and Louis brought a full Italian trattoria to a 1760 Burgundy estate for a summer celebration filled with cherry red dahlias, wood-fired pizza, and vinyl records spinning poolside. Chateau de Glairans, set in Mervans with seven hectares of parkland and a private pool, gave this colourful, food-forward wedding the warm stone backdrop it needed. Bridal Portraits

Victoria stood in the chateau courtyard in an off-the-shoulder white gown with a structured, draped bodice, gold statement earrings, and a red lip that matched the dahlias in her loosely gathered bouquet. She held a bamboo hand fan against warm brick and grey-blue shutters while Ilkeys found the light falling through the arched doorway.
Couple Portraits

Out on the gravel in front of the red brick facade, Ilkeys worked through couple portraits that shifted from structured to candid. Louis, in forest green tweed with tan leather oxfords and an open white collar, spun Victoria under his raised hand. A vintage white Citroen 2CV from Balade Retro Bourgogne parked nearby, and the late afternoon Burgundy light gave everything a golden wash.
Cocktail Hour

White signage panels hand-lettered in red Italian script by Le Petit Macatia welcomed guests. Pizza Fasoli fired blistered pizzas from a mobile oven on the poolside terrace while Au Verre Vide poured cocktails and La P’tiote Soif ran a cold brew bar. SAM Even Prod spun vinyl from wooden crates engraved with the couple’s names as live duo Les Yeux d’Olga set the tone.
Reception

The outdoor table stretched the full length of the gravel courtyard, red-and-white stripes bright against the brick farmhouse with its lavender-blue shutters. Louis wore a forest green linen waistcoat for dinner. Innelyss delivered the wedding cake, and the wooden Bar a Vinyle sign hung by twine as records kept spinning. The couple shared a first dance on the gravel at golden hour before music shifted from Italian pop to French chanson.
Design and Details

Labricole anchored the Italian trattoria concept with bold red-and-white striped tablecloths and matching napkins on long banquet tables. A four-tiered wooden market stall display held desserts alongside fresh tomatoes under a red-and-white awning. En Ete a la Campagne arranged low centrepieces of deep burgundy dahlias, dried grasses, and trailing foliage, with red pillar candles in terracotta vessels.
Flat Lays

Oz and Aquarelle designed the stationery suite in Italian script, arranged poolside alongside San Marzano tomatoes, dried pasta shapes, and fresh-baked bread. Kraft-wrapped sable biscuit favours from L’Atelier Sucre sat beside modern glassware and a single red dahlia, the cherry palette already vibrating against blue water and warm stone.
