Cecilia and Alex gathered their closest friends and family at Le Petit Roulet, a beautifully restored wedding estate in the Luberon, where gardens, courtyards, and shaded terraces shaped a celebration full of warmth and colour. Planned from Switzerland with the help of Savina Uldry, the day unfolded naturally across Provence’s sunlit wedding countryside near Aix-en-Provence.

Getting Ready

This black-and-white getting-ready detail shot shows a strapless wedding dress hanging from a wooden hanger on a door frame in what appears to be a château or period property room. The gown features a draped sweetheart bodice with flowing, layered skirt panels that trail toward the floor, suggesting a light, fluid fabric such as silk or chiffon. The room interior shows a vaulted ceiling, aged plaster walls, a small bedside table with a table lamp, and a vanity mirror with bulb lighting partially visible on the right. The image has soft contrast with bright mid-tones on the dress against the darker door and room surroundings.

Final preparations unfolded in quiet light as hair was pinned and jewellery clasped into place. The bride’s gown hung against pale stone walls, its lines simple and clean, ready for the garden ceremony just beyond the terrace. A sense of calm focus settled over the room before guests began to arrive.

An outdoor wedding ceremony taking place in a walled garden, likely in the south of France, with a stone building visible in the background. The bride wears a white off-shoulder dress with a veil, and the groom is dressed in a light beige suit; they stand at an altar framed by two tall floral columns featuring a colorful mix of peach, yellow, purple, and white blooms including what appear to be ranunculus, delphinium, and wildflower varieties, with matching florals lining the aisle. Approximately 40–50 guests are seated on wooden folding chairs on either side of a grass aisle, many holding white paper parasols and hand fans to shade themselves from the bright sun, dressed in summery, colorful attire. The overall styling is relaxed and garden-party in feel, with a soft, wildflower-inspired floral palette; the shot is taken from the back of the aisle as a wide perspective view looking toward the couple and officiant.

A floral arch anchored the garden ceremony beneath plane trees, where Cecilia and Alex exchanged vows as a friend performed an Elvis classic. Purple, blush, and deep red blooms framed the aisle against a backdrop of green lawns and gravel paths. Guests sat close on wooden chairs, the warm air carrying each word across the garden.

The couple moved through gravel paths and garden archways, pausing beneath canopies of green where late light filtered through the leaves. Portraits captured the ease between them, from quiet glances along stone walls to wide frames that pulled in the estate’s layered terraces. The bridal party joined briefly for relaxed group shots on the lawn.

The bride is kneeling on the lawn beside a large white dog wearing an orange collar, resting her arm across its back during what appears to be an outdoor cocktail hour or reception. She is wearing an off-the-shoulder ivory gown with a train spread across the grass, and holds a colorful bridal bouquet featuring red dahlias, white daisies, lavender blooms, and pink flowers with lush greenery. In the background, a rectangular pool is visible along with a crowd of approximately 20–30 guests mingling under string lights strung across a wooden pergola structure. A woman in a deep purple halterneck bridesmaid dress stands in the right foreground. The overall decor palette mixes warm string lighting with a colorful, garden-party aesthetic. Medium-distance portrait shot with a shallow depth of field blurring the background guests.

Champagne moved between groups as guests gathered on the terrace for the aperitif, the scent of herbs drifting across the garden. Conversations spilled across the lawn while canapes circulated beneath the trees. The transition from ceremony to reception felt unhurried and natural.

Long tables with wooden chairs filled the courtyard as glassware caught the fading sun. String lights stretched overhead and champagne flowed between courses, the meal building warmth through local flavours and shared plates. At Last introduced the first dance, and guests lingered easily on the terrace as the sky cooled and music carried into the night.

Design and Details

A palette of soft blush, rich purple, and deep red ran through every arrangement, from the ceremony arch to the long table centrepieces. Crystal glassware and pressed paper added vintage texture alongside hand-written place cards. Herbs and cut flowers mingled across the settings, grounding the design in the Provencal landscape surrounding the estate.
