Blush Peonies and Mediterranean Gold at Domaine du Mont Leuze, French Riviera

Julie and Joe's celebration at Domaine du Mont Leuze on the French Riviera with blush peonies and brass details. 35 photos by Vadim Fasij.

By Elena Moretti | Published 15 October 2024

A grounded floral arch threaded with blush peonies framed nothing but open sky and the glittering arc of the Mediterranean coastline at Domaine du Mont Leuze, a dramatic hilltop wedding estate on the French Riviera. Planner Nadia Fry Events choreographed every transition between ceremony, cocktail, and dinner zones so that guests barely noticed moving, only that the view kept shifting across this elegant Riviera venue and panoramic wedding destination in Provence.

The arch built by Floralux Design anchored the outdoor ceremony platform with garden roses in dusty blush, ranunculus in antique cream, and full-headed peonies in soft coral, all wound over raw iron against a backdrop of pine canopy and open sea. Nadia Fry Events positioned every seated guest to look directly toward the coastline, the officiant and arch forming a frame, the Mediterranean filling it. When Julie appeared, the quiet that fell over the terrace said everything.

Bridal Portraits

Bride in white satin gown with cathedral veil posing on wrought-iron terrace overlooking coastal bay
A bridal portrait taken outdoors on a terrace or ceremony platform with a panoramic coastal view visible behind a black iron railing. The bride stands alone in a white ball gown with a structured sweetheart bodice, wide straps, and a long cathedral train, paired with a cathedral-length veil. She holds a rounded bouquet of white peonies and carries a warm, confident expression. Behind her is a large ground-level floral arrangement featuring blush and peach roses, white delphiniums, dusty mauve smoke bush, ivory garden roses, and soft cream blooms spread across the full width of the frame in a loose, organic style. The overall floral palette is blush, peach, ivory, and mauve against a white ceremony floor. The shot is a full-length portrait framing the bride centrally against the floral backdrop and coastal scenery.
A bridal portrait taken outdoors on a terrace or balcony with a wrought-iron railing and a hillside and water view in the background. The bride wears an off-the-shoulder white satin gown with a cathedral veil and holds a tightly arranged bouquet of white peonies with green stems. She is leaning slightly forward toward the camera and smiling directly at the lens. Behind her is a large ground-level floral installation featuring blush pink roses, peach spray roses, white delphiniums, white snapdragons, and dusty pink blooms arranged in a lush, garden-style display. The overall decor palette is white, blush, and peach with greenery accents, styled in a romantic, classic aesthetic. Medium close-up portrait composition.
A bridal portrait taken outdoors on a terrace with wrought-iron scrollwork railings, overlooking a panoramic coastal landscape with a bay visible in the distance. The bride stands in three-quarter profile, glancing back toward the camera, wearing a white sleeveless A-line gown with a low back and an extended cathedral-length train that spreads across the terrace floor. She wears a long cathedral veil with scattered appliquéd floral details throughout its length. Her bouquet consists of white roses and she wears her dark hair in a half-up style. The overall styling is classic and clean, with a modern minimalist dress paired with an ornate veil. Full-length portrait shot in bright natural daylight.

Julie's gown was a fluid silk-satin column with a low draped back and barely-there straps, the fabric catching the copper-gold of the afternoon. The collaborative trio of Juli Hairstyle, Anastasia, and Dinistile gave her a soft updo with face-framing tendrils, polished enough for the estate's grandeur yet relaxed enough for an open-air Riviera afternoon. Against the warm terracotta balustrade and the steel-blue sea, every frame by Vadim Fasij read like a fashion editorial.

Couple Portraits

Black and white couple on terrace with mermaid gown train and coastal bay with boats behind
A couple portrait taken outdoors on a paved garden path lined with sculpted topiary trees. The groom, dressed in a dark navy suit, is dipping the bride toward him as they kiss. The bride wears a white off-shoulder ballgown with a long cathedral-length veil and an extended train that spreads across the path. Her dark hair is worn down. The shot is taken during golden hour, with warm backlight filtering through the tree canopy, creating a sun flare effect. The composition is a full-length portrait framed by the symmetrical tree-lined path stretching into the background.
A couple walks along a white aisle runner toward a stone staircase at an outdoor venue, with the bride turning back to smile at the camera. The bride wears a white satin fit-and-flare gown with a deep back, pearl button detailing down the spine, and a very long cathedral veil with floral appliqué trim; she carries a round bouquet of white peonies. The groom is in a classic black suit and walks slightly ahead of her. The setting features rustic stone retaining walls lining the path, ornate wrought-iron gates at the top of the stairs, and dense mature trees overhead, consistent with a French villa or château garden. The shot is a medium-wide portrait taken from slightly behind and to the side, emphasizing the full length of the gown's train and veil against the white runner.

Vadim Fasij guided Julie and Joe through the upper terraces and stone pathways between pine trees while guests moved to cocktails and watched the sky shift from amber to deep persimmon. The estate's distinct backdrops offered dappled shade, open panorama, and intimate archways in quick succession. The golden hour on the French Riviera burns warm and long, lighting their portraits from the side and casting long shadows while the sea turned to a stripe of molten bronze behind them.

Bridal Party

Bride in ivory bustier gown with six bridesmaids in steel-blue satin walking on white aisle with peony arrangements
A large bridal party group portrait taken outdoors on a terrace or elevated platform with a panoramic coastal view in the background. The couple stands at the center — the bride in a fitted ivory square-neck gown holding a bouquet of white and cream blooms with greenery, and the groom in a black tuxedo with a bow tie. Approximately 20 bridal party members surround them, with bridesmaids wearing dusty blue-grey satin slip dresses in varying styles and holding bouquets of ivory and cream flowers with soft greenery, and groomsmen dressed in black tuxedos with bow ties. The foreground features blush pink and white floral arrangements at ground level, and white ornate chairs are visible to the left. The styling palette is classic and modern, combining dusty blue, ivory, and black. Wide group shot composition.

The bridal party wore floor-length gowns in dusty mauve, one shade warmer than dove grey, one shade cooler than rose, which sat perfectly against the estate's stone walls. Bouquets mirrored the ceremony arch with tight clusters of garden roses, ranunculus, and a single stem of dried pampas for movement and texture. The group portraits had an ease that comes when a location does most of the heavy lifting and people simply enjoy being together on a hillside above the sea.

Reception

Dinner unfolded on the upper terrace under string lights, with Jerome Ravel delivering a menu built around the season. Floralux Design extended their palette from the ceremony arch into antique brass vases of varying heights, with clusters of dried lunaria, cafe-au-lait dahlias, and trailing amaranthus in deep burgundy. Options Nice supplied long linen-draped tables and aged-timber cross-back chairs, while Deco Flame handled the stage and dancefloor. Aurora's live band took the stage and the dancefloor filled, music carrying across the hillside.
