Beneath mature oaks in the Perigord countryside, this wedding at Chateau d'Oche, a neo-Gothic estate surrounded by mature parkland found its rhythm in chalk white, cool sage, and the warm amber of candlelight against pale limestone. Harmonie Photography captured each shift in light across this refined countryside wedding celebration in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Getting Ready

Carey Make Up Hair created a look that was warm and quietly luminous, with champagne-toned skin, a soft flush, and brows left full and natural. Hair was swept into a loose, low knot with face-framing pieces. The bride laughed mid-application when a strand refused to cooperate, the kind of unhurried moment that makes these photographs worth keeping. Light through the chateau's tall windows fell flat and soft across the room.
Ceremony

Guests followed a shaded path through the parkland to chairs arranged in the open air, the chateau's turrets visible above the treeline. Birdsong filled the gaps between words. The ceremony arch was constructed from trailing blooms and leafy branches, fragrant enough to catch on the breeze. Vows were exchanged without amplification, voices carrying across the still afternoon with a weight the restraint of the setting made possible.
Bridal Portraits

In her Grace Loves Lace gown, the bride moved through the chateau's parkland with the ease of a dress that fits the body rather than fighting it. The stretch silk moved with her stride. Harmonie Photography placed her against the estate's stone balustrade and the long shadow of an oak, working with the midday contrast rather than avoiding it. The sage and ivory palette drew the eye to form and posture.
Couple Portraits

As dusk softened the sky to pink at the edges, Harmonie Photography led the couple through the estate's grounds in the last of the evening light. They walked loosely, a forehead resting against a shoulder, a shared glance at something outside the frame. The bridal party in varying lengths of sage-green chiffon gathered nearby, creating a gradient effect when they stood together that was entirely unplanned.
Cocktail Hour

Champagne was poured in the courtyard as the afternoon light shifted from gold to amber. Guests grazed on platters of charcuterie and soft white cheeses while a guitarist played unhurried chords. The chateau's walls caught the sound and kept it contained. Low floral arrangements and trailing greenery dressed the standing tables, the stone underfoot still holding the heat of the afternoon.
Reception

String lights framed the open courtyard as dinner moved into the evening. Candles in varying heights ran the length of the tables, and the chateau's facade served as the most dramatic backdrop without a single addition. Courses arrived at a pace that allowed conversation to build and laughter to travel. When dancing began, the courtyard's proportions meant no one was ever far from the floor.
Design and Details

The reception table held faith with the palette: ivory linen runners, low vessels of white sweet peas and single cosmos stems, mismatched antique crystal glassware, and tea-light clusters in amber glass. Place cards in sage ink on ivory card completed each setting. The Grace Loves Lace gown, an ivory slip in stretch silk with a bias cut, had been laid alongside a fine-chain bracelet, ivory satin mules, and a hand-tied bouquet of white garden roses and cream veronicastrum.
Venue

Chateau d'Oche earns its drama from architecture alone. The neo-Gothic facade rises above mature parkland, pointed turrets and stone archways doing the decorative work so the wedding does not have to. A shaded avenue leads guests from arrival through ceremony, courtyard, and portrait spaces, the entire day contained within one estate. Late light hit the limestone at an angle that turned every surface golden by late afternoon.
