Edward and Zoe returned to the 18th-century estate where his Mole ancestors once lived, giving their celebration at Chateau de Champlatreux, a grand limestone chateau set in formal parkland north of Paris an almost architectural weight. With guests representing 28 nationalities dining beneath an open sky on the chateau's allee, this was a sophisticated wedding celebration in the Ile-de-France countryside grounded in lineage, colour, and genuine connection.
Getting Ready

Zoe's gown, ivory silk mikado with a structured off-the-shoulder bodice and a cathedral-length train, was lifted into place while Reina Kim Artistry worked on a low, pinned chignon nearby. Les Jolies Biches handled the bridesmaids with soft, slightly undone waves. Someone laughed at exactly the wrong moment, and Morgane Ball caught it. The blue earrings went in last, a flash of cobalt against Zoe's collarbone that tied the entire palette together.
Ceremony

Laura The Paris Officiant held the ceremony in the chateau's formal salon, candlelight filling the space even in mid-afternoon. AS Luxury built the ceremony arch in cornflower blue and white, layering ranunculus, sweet peas, and veronica into an asymmetric sweep against pale limestone. Clement Meyer played something low and unhurried as guests settled. When Edward saw Zoe at the end of the aisle, he pressed his lips together briefly, the expression of a person trying not to cry and failing gracefully.
Couple Portraits

As the last natural light fell away, Morgane Ball moved Edward and Zoe to the parkland edge for final frames. The formal garden geometry behind them, the chateau lit and glowing at their backs. Edward's hand at the small of Zoe's back, she looking slightly off-camera, neither posing in any way that felt deliberate. Inside the chateau's corridors of pale light, Zoe had earlier moved through stone archways with quiet confidence, a single stem of delphinium held loosely at her side.
Reception

Dinner outdoors on the allee required confidence, and Momento Mio delivered. The chateau's facade was lit from below as the sky darkened, pale gold against deep blue-grey, and the table stretched into a single unbroken line of candlelight. Speeches moved between English and French. Inside Cocktail served coupes on the terrace beforehand while AS Luxury's flower arrangements in French navy and white lisianthus anchored the drinks tables. A champagne toast drew laughter before the first course arrived.
Design and Details

Each table on the allee carried the name of a city from Edward and Zoe's shared map. Oatmeal-white linen, clear undecorated glassware catching the candlelight, and place cards bearing the same family crest as the invitations. Centrepieces varied in height: some low and dense with garden roses and nigella in indigo and ivory, others tall with branches of Michaelmas daisy. The family napkin seal, pressed in blue wax, sat at every cover.
Flat Lays

The stationery suite revealed the tone immediately: deep cornflower blue, the family crest rendered in fine line, and a restrained serif that leaned classical without being stiff. Tissue-lined envelopes, wax seals in cobalt, and Zoe's powder-blue satin block-heeled shoes sat alongside a silk ribbon sash and a perfume bottle catching the window light.
Venue

The pale limestone facade, symmetrical and unhurried, framed by clipped parterres, sets the register for everything that follows in these images. The parkland holds its green, the formal gardens still crisp, and the stone warm in the afternoon light. For a couple with a direct ancestral connection to the property, every angle of this 18th-century estate carried double meaning.
