Coastal Blues and Crisp White Linen at Castel Bay, Hyeres
Flore and Maxime's wedding at Castel Bay in Hyeres with an ivory crepe gown, sage bridesmaids, and a sea-view ceremony. 77 photos by Marjorie Manfre.
Flore and Maxime married at Castel Bay, a Belle Epoque wedding venue overlooking the Mediterranean in Hyeres with a clean-lined celebration that let the coastal setting lead. Agence LB, an experienced destination wedding planner based in Paris, timed every transition to the softest light while Marjorie Manfre captured the day from preparation to midnight. Getting Ready

Flore slipped into a sleek ivory crepe sheath, bias-cut with a low cowl back, as warm light pooled across the dressing table. You By Melinda kept the makeup sharp and skin-true, a nude-rose lip and defined brow that read flawlessly against the coastal daylight filtering through the shuttered windows.
Ceremony

Vows were exchanged facing the water, chairs arranged so no guest had their back to the sea. Any Flowers Officiel kept the altar florals deliberately low, clusters of white lisianthus and ivory cosmos at foot level, so the Mediterranean horizon stayed fully visible. Agence LB had timed the ceremony to the golden hour window, and the light paid them back.
Bridal Portraits

Marjorie Manfre moved Flore onto the upper terrace where the horizon line sat exactly at shoulder height. The crepe of the dress caught the Provence light differently from each angle, matte in shadow, nearly luminous where the sun hit the bias. The limestone balustrade, warm ochre against blue water, did the rest.
Couple Portraits

Marjorie Manfre took Flore and Maxime to the far edge of the upper terrace after dinner, where city lights and the dark line of the sea met in the distance. The images from that ten-minute window are backlit and relaxed, Flore laughing at something Maxime said just before the shutter, the kind that will matter in twenty years.
Bridal Party

Bridesmaids wore fluid midi dresses in dusty sage, a Nile green with grey undertone that photographed like a watercolour against the stone and the sea-blue distance. Groomsmen held the same restrained brief: oyster-white linen shirts, no tie, tailored stone-coloured trousers. The full group on the lower terrace steps read as one piece.
Cocktail Hour

XY Live Music set up on the shaded garden terrace as Fleur de Sel Traiteur passed chilled rose and amuse-bouches on slate. Guests leaned against the stone parapet watching the light shift on the water while La Selfiejoke Photobooth drew the more energetic crowd toward the garden corner.
Reception

Fleur de Sel Traiteur's menu ran to sea bream with fennel and slow-roasted rack of lamb with herbes de Provence. DJ Aleko brought the tempo up from XY Live Music's last song and the garden below was lit with warm amber spots, sound carrying out over the water. The evening stretched past midnight with the company entirely willing.
Design and Details

Tables on the main terrace were set on pale ecru linen with hand-lettered place cards in fine charcoal script. Candle heights were calibrated so conversation flowed unobstructed, tapered beeswax in clear glass at eye level. A single stem of white sweet pea marked each setting, and the glassware caught candle flame after sunset.
Flat Lays

Any Flowers Officiel arranged a hand-tied bouquet of white blooms and a single stem of blue delphinium, that one cool note against all the cream. The rings sat beside the bouquet on linen paper, alongside champagne satin strappy heels and a perfume bottle with a distinctly vintage silhouette.
Venue

From the wrought-iron entrance gates to the sea-view ceremony platform, Castel Bay layers Belle Epoque architecture with wild Mediterranean garden, stone pines, rosemary borders, and bougainvillea in deep magenta spilling over whitewashed walls. Every exterior wall appeared as a backdrop throughout the day.
