Royal Blue and Butter Yellow at Chateau la Durantie, Dordogne
A styled editorial at Chateau la Durantie in Dordogne with royal blue, butter yellow, and Toile de Jouy tables. 55 photos by Justine Berges.
Cool morning air carried the scent of candles through limestone corridors as this editorial unfolded at Chateau la Durantie, a refined wedding estate in Dordogne's Perigord Vert. Planner Quinze Heures Quinze, a creative wedding designer based in Nouvelle-Aquitaine orchestrated every detail with regional suppliers, building a royal blue and butter yellow palette against golden stone. Getting Ready

The bridal suite at Chateau la Durantie offered an unhurried morning. Olinka Hairart worked with loose, pinned-back texture while the bride stepped into a Jesus Peiro gown by Pronovias via Mary Mariees, an ivory silk crepe with clean lines and a statement back. Bella Belle Shoes brought romance underfoot, and Tiffany and Co. earrings caught pale light through tall French windows.
Bridal Portraits

Against the chateau's exterior limestone walls, the ivory gown read almost cream, the stone behind pushing warmth into every frame. Justine Berges placed her in the long afternoon shadows of the terrace, where the architecture created natural composition without effort. The silk crepe moved with intention in the breeze, and one quiet glance downward made the whole frame feel inhabited.
Couple Portraits

Justine Berges worked between the formal garden allee and a stretch of Dordogne countryside beyond the chateau gates. The afternoon light carried a particular warm, golden quality. The slate-toned wool suit from L'Atelier 5 offered a clean counterpoint to the ivory gown, and together the two figures against the green Perigord landscape made for images with genuine colour contrast.
Reception

Candlelight settled over the grand salon as service moved from canapes to plated courses. The royal blue and soft yellow floral arrangements by Efflorescence glowed deeper and warmer by candlelight. Alma Cake Design's three-tier column in matte white with pressed floral detail sat at the intersection of restraint and craft. Linen brushed fingertips at every place setting.
Design and Details

Quinze Heures Quinze built the table around Toile de Jouy runners in ivory and blue, silver flatware, and gold-rimmed porcelain. Montaigne chairs from Options Bordeaux held quiet formality. Efflorescence arranged delphiniums for height, hydrangeas for body, and peonies with soft yellow-centred roses as the finishing layer. Chandeliers overhead were dressed sparingly in blooms.
Flat Lays

Margaux Paperie's hand-lettered invitation suite anchored the flat lay: cotton-textured card, italic script, and a wax seal in deep cobalt. Bella Belle Shoes, the Jesus Peiro label, a silk ribbon in butter yellow, and the Tiffany box in its signature aqua filled the space around it. The letterpress impression on the card surface spoke to the handmade craft throughout.
