Mathieu and Mumu married at Chateau de Ferrieres, a grand 19th-century estate thirty minutes from Paris where rain simply meant moving from formal gardens into gilt-ceilinged salons, and their dog Miso carried the rings. The day unfolded from first look on the garden staircase through candlelit dinner and a birthday surprise mid-reception. Getting Ready

Mumu spent the morning surrounded by her mother and bridesmaids in one of the chateau's high-ceilinged dressing rooms, the pale stone walls catching soft light in tones that read as champagne on camera. Mathieu shared a quieter moment with Miso, the couple's dog, who would soon carry the rings down the aisle. The air held traces of perfume and hairspray as laughter moved between mirrors.
Ceremony

Rain moved the ceremony indoors, and the result outperformed any garden plan. Guests took seats beneath gilt ceilings while rain tapped steadily at tall windows, an unexpectedly beautiful sound beneath the string music. Then Miso appeared carrying the rings with an expression of solemn concentration, and the room exhaled into laughter. Vows followed with clear sightlines from every seat.
Bridal Portraits

Mumu's satin column gown, low-backed with a trailing hem, read sharply against the warm ivory of Chateau de Ferrieres' interior plasterwork. The photographer worked fast through hallways and antechambers, finding pockets of soft morning light through tall windows. One image on the garden staircase before the rain arrived shows Mumu alone, shoulders back, bouquet at her side, expression perfectly still.
Couple Portraits

Late afternoon, as clouds thinned, Mathieu and Mumu slipped back outside to the formal parterres, gravel paths, and the long allee of trees. The palette worked in their favour: grey-white sky overhead, warm ivory gown against cold stone, dark suit a clean counterpoint to every background. The bridesmaids had gathered earlier in soft dusty rose, and the photographer caught one genuine corridor laugh mid-frame.
Reception

Dinner unfolded beneath crystal chandeliers throwing warm amber light across ivory tablecloths, tables arranged in long measured lines. Speeches paced the meal, laughter rose between courses, and somewhere in the middle of the evening it became Mathieu's birthday, which the room marked with appropriate noise. A three-tiered cake in pale ivory buttercream carried a single ranunculus stem at its base.
Design and Details

Ivory linens, low arrangements of cream and blush garden roses in antique brass vessels, and taper candles in aged gold holders that multiplied in the salon mirrors as evening arrived. Place cards were hand-lettered in deep forest-green ink that anchored the warmth without pulling cold. The invitation suite in ivory and deep ink, rings catching window light, and a pale ranunculus bouquet completed the visual register.
