A champagne tower caught the candlelight as guests cheered on the terrace at Chateau Lacanaud, where Victoria and Matt brought black-tie formality and poolside spontaneity together for a summer weekend in the Dordogne. The British couple, who met in London and now live in Switzerland, chose this 18th-century estate in Nouvelle-Aquitaine for its privacy, its grounds, and the promise of long French evenings outdoors.
Getting Ready

The morning began in Chateau Lacanaud's rustic bedrooms, exposed limestone walls and wooden beams framing the light. Victoria's Anna Kara gown hung from a natural wood hanger, its deep V-neckline and lace overlay visible against the pale stone. Downstairs, blush pink Loeffler Randall sandals and a groom's flat lay of black tassel loafers, a silver watch, and a white self-tie bow tie set the tone for the day ahead.
Ceremony

The ceremony unfolded on the lawn beside a calm river, a dense tree canopy forming the backdrop and crystal chandeliers hanging from the branches above. Victoria walked down the gravel path on her father's arm, her cathedral-length lace-edged veil trailing behind while bridesmaids in sage green followed close. The outdoor setting, with its natural light filtering through leaves, gave the afternoon a warmth that matched the couple's relaxed approach to the day.
Bridal Portraits

Black-and-white portraits by the lake showed Victoria mid-turn, the skirt of her flowing chiffon gown caught in motion against the water's reflection. In closer frames, the cap-sleeve lace bodice with floral applique over a blush underlay came through clearly. The photographer's approach mixed formal composition with something more unguarded, catching expressions between poses.
Couple Portraits

Outdoor portraits by the pond showed the couple close together, Victoria's floor-length chiffon gown and Matt's dark suit framed by tall trees and dense foliage. The black-and-white frames caught genuine laughter and quiet moments side by side. The lake's reflection and soft diffused light gave each image a quality of stillness that the rest of the day's energy could not quite replicate.
Cocktail Hour

The groom reclined on an inflatable swan by the infinity pool, sunglasses on and laughing, while a champagne tower of coupe glasses caught bubbles and foam in the late sun. The cocktail hour spread across the estate's terrace and gardens, wide shots showing traditional terracotta rooftops and groups gathered in easy conversation.
Reception

A large white sailcloth tent with warm wooden flooring housed the reception, long tables dressed in white linen and natural wood chiavari chairs. The entrance was framed by a wooden arch decorated with white hydrangeas, ranunculus, baby's breath, and pale blue accents. The sweetheart table featured a low centrepiece of white hydrangeas, greenery, and ivory tapers that matched the garden-to-table approach of the whole evening.
Design and Details

A floor-to-ceiling floral wall of densely packed white and cream roses and hydrangeas formed the backdrop for the celebration's central photo moment. Victoria's bridal bouquet combined ivory roses, white freesias, tulips, baby's breath, and trailing olive branches. The veil, with its fine ivory tulle and clusters of floral lace applique, lay against aged limestone flooring between uses.
Flat Lays

A flat lay on beige gingham fabric arranged the wedding stationery, the program reading 'Welcome to the Wedding of Matthew Adam and Victoria Louise'. Blush pink Loeffler Randall strappy sandals with pleated knotted detail sat alongside the bridal accessories. Matt's flat lay featured black tassel loafers, a white self-tie bow tie, a silver mesh-strap chronograph watch, and gold-tone cufflinks on a round wooden table.
Venue

The estate's cream-toned limestone buildings with pale grey-blue shutters and terracotta tile roofs formed the main view from the gravel drive. A traditional French country manor with steeply pitched rooftops, dormer windows, and climbing roses anchored the far end of the property. The grounds gave the impression of a family home rather than a hired venue, and that ease carried through the whole weekend.
