Domaine de Lamanon
PremiumThe 500-square-metre esplanade at Domaine de Lamanon, shaded by plane trees planted before the French Revolution, provides the kind of naturally grand outdoor dining and dancing space that no temporary structure could replicate. This is the centrepiece of the estate's outdoor offering: a paved, tree-canopied platform where up to 200 guests can dine al fresco beneath living architecture that has been growing for over two centuries. Beyond the esplanade, the 20-hectare grounds offer outdoor ceremony settings among lavender-lined avenues, a rose garden, and cypress alleys that create natural corridors between different open-air zones.
The 16th-century canal system, originally funded by Nostradamus through engineer Adam de Craponne, adds a water feature that runs through the outdoor landscape, providing both visual interest and the ambient sound of moving water during al fresco celebrations. Seven bedrooms sleep 15 guests on-site, and external caterers can configure outdoor dining anywhere across the estate's varied garden settings. The majestic hall and royal salon provide indoor rain backup, but the primary experience here is thoroughly outdoor, built around the scale and shade of those pre-Revolution plane trees.
Pre-Revolution plane trees shading a 500-square-metre esplanade create the most naturally grand outdoor dining space in Provence.
