Alison and Eoin, both physicians from Dublin, brought their love story from Central Park to Chateau Challain, a grand neo-Gothic castle in the western Loire Valley for a fairytale celebration among turrets and sweeping grounds. Arranged by Cynthia Nicholson of Chateau Challain, their two-part wedding spanned New York and the Loire Region.
Getting Ready

Alison prepared in the chateau's ornate bridal suite, where morning light played across carved stone and gilded mirrors. Her Louise Kennedy gown, with its refined silhouette and vintage-inspired detailing, set a tone of quiet grandeur that matched the neo-Gothic interiors. The bridal team gathered around her as final touches were made with calm precision.
Ceremony

Despite unpredictable weather, the outdoor ceremony went ahead on the chateau's sweeping lawns, a testament to the couple's calm and joy. The styling blended vintage and shabby chic touches, from lace and pearls to delicate pastels that softened the Gothic grandeur. Vows were exchanged with genuine emotion as guests gathered beneath the turrets of Chateau Challain.
Bridal Portraits

Portraits captured Alison against Chateau Challain's turrets, stone archways, and formal gardens, her Louise Kennedy gown catching the afternoon light. The neo-Gothic architecture provided dramatic compositional frames, from spiral staircases to iron-railed balconies overlooking the grounds. Each image balanced the scale of the castle with the intimate warmth of the bride's expression.
Reception

Dinner filled the chateau's grand dining room with candlelight, laughter, and heartfelt toasts. Tables dressed with garden roses, vintage linens, and flickering tapers created an atmosphere of intimate grandeur. The evening built from seated elegance to spirited dancing, with guests celebrating beneath the vaulted ceilings of Chateau Challain.
Design and Details

The design blended vintage charm with French elegance, layering lace, pearls, and soft pastel tones across the chateau's historic rooms. Shabby chic accents softened the Gothic architecture, creating an atmosphere that felt romantic without being formal. Floral arrangements of garden roses and trailing greenery echoed the estate's park-like grounds.
Flat Lays

Stationery details featured soft pastel tones and calligraphed text on textured paper, arranged alongside pearl accessories, lace trim, and delicate floral sprigs. The flat lay compositions captured the wedding's blend of vintage elegance and French romance. Ring shots and invitation suites completed the visual story with careful, considered arrangement.
