Oyster Shells and Peach Light at Domaine Tarbouriech, Occitanie

Nicole and Jamie wed at Domaine Tarbouriech on the Thau Lagoon with oyster-shell details and poolside candlelit dining. 46 photos by Jimmy Rapper.

Nicole and Jamie brought their family to Domaine Tarbouriech, a waterfront wedding estate on the Thau Lagoon near Montpellier for a celebration rooted in Mediterranean light and the region's oyster-coast heritage. Vine-lined paths led to open terraces where the lagoon shimmered in every direction, a setting perfectly suited to romantic destination weddings in the Occitanie region of southern France.

Ceremony

The ceremony unfolded on the open terrace with the Thau Lagoon as a backdrop, coordinated by Josh Tully Management. Guests on white chairs faced the water as Mixology DJ shifted the music, the sound carrying across the lagoon's surface. Nicole held a loose hand-tied bouquet in blush, ivory, and the faintest champagne from Gama Events, single-stem roses at ground level forming the aisle markers.

A couple portrait taken outdoors on a wooden pool deck, with a rectangular swimming pool visible directly behind them. The bride wears a strapless, figure-hugging white satin gown with ruched bodice and front slit, paired with white strappy heeled sandals; she carries a bouquet of white peonies and holds wavy blonde hair down. The groom wears a white dinner jacket with black bow tie, black dress trousers, and black oxford shoes, with a white floral boutonnière on his lapel. The overall styling is modern and classic with an all-white color palette. The shot is a full-length couple portrait framed against the pool and thatched parasols in the background.

In her Jane Hill Bridal crepe gown, Nicole moved through vine-lined paths and waterfront terraces with Jimmy Rapper finding the angles where stone, water, and off-white fabric created something quietly powerful. Later, Jamie in his Hawkes Bespoke mid-grey wool suit and Nicole in her Trish Peng bias-cut ivory satin evening dress walked the jetty as the lagoon turned the colour of a peach.

Bridal Party

Full bridal party lined up on cobblestone path with bride in white gown and bridesmaids in black dresses
A bridal party portrait featuring the bride and six bridesmaids posed indoors against a textured plaster wall hung with a large abstract artwork in soft pink and white tones, flanked by exposed stone walls. The bride wears an ivory satin sweetheart-neckline fitted gown with a train and holds a large cascading bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchids and white roses. The six bridesmaids wear mismatched black floor-length gowns in varying styles — including spaghetti straps, cut-out details, deep V-necks, and a ruffled hem — each holding a round bouquet of white roses and white orchids. The overall styling palette is a high-contrast black and white with a modern, sleek aesthetic. This is a medium group portrait shot taken at eye level.
A bridal party group portrait taken outdoors on a cobblestone surface beneath large palm trees. The bride wears a strapless ivory satin fitted gown and holds a cascading bouquet of white orchids and ivory roses; the groom stands behind her in a cream/ivory dinner jacket with black bow tie and black trousers. Visible bridesmaids wear floor-length black strapless and one-shoulder gowns and carry matching white orchid and ivory rose bouquets. Groomsmen wear classic black tuxedos with black bow ties. Approximately six to seven bridal party members are visible in this mid-range portrait shot. The color palette is strictly black, white, and ivory throughout, giving the styling a high-contrast, formal look.

Emily Mander and Abigail Constanza styled sun-kissed hair while Victoria Fox kept make-up to a barely-there warmth with muted coral-peach lips echoing the table palette. Bridesmaids wore dusty rose chiffon that moved in the coastal wind during portraits, and a flower girl decided the oyster shells on the welcome table were far more interesting than walking down the aisle.

Reception

Pol Roger Champagne on ice and Citron Pavot's canapes circled the pool terrace during cocktail hour, with Joli Bazaar's curved rattan tables and terracotta pots keeping the aesthetic grounded. Dinner followed as the sun fell, Citron Pavot's regional menu lit by candlelight multiplied across the water's surface. By the time the first dance started, the lagoon had turned dark and still, the Mixology DJ reading the room perfectly.

Marion of Gama Events drew the design language directly from the region's oyster-farming heritage. Oyster shells replaced traditional place cards, their nacreous interiors echoing the soft peach palette running through florals and linens. Broken limestone fragments and smooth ivory linen created a sculptural contrast. Jane Hill Bridal's Heritage 03 gown and Pol Roger Champagne labels anchored the flat lay beside trailing blush garden roses.

More from the Day

Bride in strapless ivory satin gown with thigh slit holding white rose bouquet on wooden deck
A bridal portrait of a bride standing in the open doorway of what appears to be a French château or manor house, photographed from outside. She is wearing a fitted ivory satin strapless gown with a cowl neckline, a front thigh slit, and a detachable cape or train that falls behind her. Her footwear consists of white strappy heeled sandals. She has long blonde wavy hair and is looking slightly upward with her hands clasped in front of her. The arched doorway features dark metal-framed glazing above and weathered stone surrounds with aged plaster, characteristic of a historic French property. The interior room visible behind her is dimly lit. The composition is a full-length portrait shot, centered and symmetrical within the architectural frame of the doorway.
