Jordan and John Paul chose Chateau Lacanaud, a honey-stoned chateau wedding venue in the Dordogne for a destination celebration built on natural textures, golden light, and understated beauty. After a village ceremony in Eymet, they arrived by vintage car to candlelit terraces and long linen-dressed tables overlooking the countryside of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a region rich with romantic wedding venues and rolling vineyards.
Getting Ready

Long, warm light filled the room as Nikki Treacy pinned Jordan's hair into soft waves, her steady hands and easy conversation keeping the morning calm. Jordan's gown by & For Love, a modern silhouette with clean architectural cut-outs and ivory crepe, lay across the chair alongside fine gold jewellery. The morning had that particular quality of unhurried confidence before everything begins.
Ceremony

Jordan and John Paul exchanged vows in the cobbled square of nearby Eymet, guests standing close in the still air as voices carried clearly across the village. Arriving at the chateau afterwards in a vintage car, winding through sunlit country lanes, felt like a cinematic exhale. The moment the car pulled through the gates and guests erupted with warmth was the ceremony's real conclusion.
Couple Portraits

Late afternoon, with the light turning honey-gold, Jordan and John Paul slipped away into the grounds. They walked the orchard path, stopped in the arched garden doorway, and sat briefly on a low stone wall. Barbara Markiewicz has a gift for invisibility, and what remains is something genuine: a forehead resting against a shoulder, a laugh that interrupts a kiss. The & For Love gown's cut-outs caught the breeze as Jordan moved through the sun-warmed gravel paths.
Bridal Party

Bridesmaids wore mismatched shades of dusty terracotta and warm sand in halter necks, wrap silhouettes, and midi lengths, each different enough to feel individual yet unified. They gathered on the chateau's front steps, laughing and adjusting one another's straps with the kind of small chaotic tenderness that photographs better than any posed arrangement. Groomsmen mirrored the relaxed palette in linen trousers and open-collar shirts.
Reception

As dusk arrived, guests moved to long tables on the terrace dressed in soft neutrals that let the Dordogne countryside finish the decoration. Conversation rose easily into the warm night air as courses arrived and toasts were made. Perfect Day by Karen orchestrated the flow of the evening without a single visible seam. At one point, a late swallow swept low over the tables, and nobody even paused. The evening had that kind of ease.
Venue

From the gravel forecourt to the walled garden and the terrace opening toward rolling Perigord countryside, Chateau Lacanaud offers a backdrop that needs almost no intervention. High ceilings, worn parquet, and tall shuttered windows filtered the afternoon sun into something golden. Outside, the landscape continued the palette of green hedgerows, cream stone, and soft sky. Perfect Day by Karen understood this instinctively, letting the architecture lead.
