White, Lemon Meringue and Black Precision at Chateau les Garennes

Ene and Alexandre’s editorial wedding at Chateau les Garennes, Brittany, with white-and-lemon florals and portraits by Louise Leveau. 41 photos.

By Elena Moretti | Published 3 October 2024

Ene and Alexandre transformed Chateau les Garennes, a refined Brittany estate with sculpted gardens and grand salons into a study in white, lemon meringue, and black precision. Amandine Troyon shaped the creative direction of a day captured by Louise Leveau inside this elegant chateau wedding venue in the North of France.

Ene stepped into a gown by Laure K. as her three bridesmaids in lemon-yellow dresses from Elisa et Eden adjusted her cathedral-length veil by Rebecca Anne. Allison Le Fur finished a clean, luminous complexion while Fanny Offelman shaped a low chignon that left the neckline open. Alexandre buttoned his Sandro Paris tuxedo before a neoclassical mirror, the pale walls amplifying the morning light.

The aisle unfolded across the lawn with draped white fabric meeting aged stone beneath a canopy of greenery and suspended hydrangeas. Alexandre waited at the altar as Ene walked forward, her cathedral train spreading across the grass. Louise Leveau caught the ring exchange in a close-up black-and-white frame, the hands lit by soft diffused light filtering through the garden canopy.

Louise Leveau positioned Ene in the garden where clipped hedges and gravel paths created clean geometric lines against her cathedral veil. A close-up captured the bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and orchids composed by Solene, stems wrapped tightly in ivory satin. From behind, the trailing veil and low chignon framed the symmetrical facade in a single unbroken composition.

Louise Leveau guided Ene and Alexandre through the grounds, framing them against the classical stone facade and the long gravel approach. The bridesmaids joined for a group portrait raising wine glasses beneath the mature trees, yellow dresses bright against the green. Later frames moved to quieter corners of the garden, the silhouettes caught against low evening light.

Cocktail Hour

A champagne tower of classic coupe glasses caught the afternoon light on a stone balustrade as guests gathered across the garden terrace. Ene and Alexandre moved between groups with ease, pausing beneath the plane trees while servers circled with trays. The lemon-meringue bridesmaids dresses punctuated the white-and-green palette, adding warmth to each candid cluster.

Emilie presented a tiered lemon-meringue cake that echoed the bridesmaids palette, set on a linen-draped table surrounded by low floral arrangements. Guests gathered indoors beneath the high mirrors and ornate mouldings as toasts began, crystal coupes raised against the warm glow of candlelight. Conversation and laughter carried through the bright windowed room well into the evening.

Design and Details

Claire et Vincent dressed the reception tables with white linen, transparent chairs, and low centrepieces of hydrangeas and roses arranged by Solene. Round place settings alternated with tall taper candles, the white-and-green palette sharpened by occasional black accents in the napkin folds. Suspended sheer drapery introduced vertical rhythm above each table, catching light from the bright windowed room.

Amelie designed the invitation suite in clean white card with fine black script, arranged on a pale surface beside Catherine's bridal jewellery and a sprig of delicate greenery. A second composition paired the veil edge with perfume bottles and the rings, each element placed with geometric precision. The all-white palette of the place setting details continued the editorial restraint visible throughout the day.
